“All We” by Edwin Muir 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (15 May 18873 Jan 1959)
All we who make
Things transitory and good
Cannot but take
When walking in a wood
Pleasure in everything
And the maker’s solicitude,
Knowing the delicacy
Of bringing shape to birth.
To fashion the transitory
We gave and took the ring
And pledged ourselves to the earth.
