“O beata infantia …” by Saint Hildegard of Bingen

“O beata infantia …” by Saint Hildegard of Bingen 🇩🇪 (c. 1098 – 17 Sep 1179)

Translated from the Latin by Nathaniel M. Campbell

Psalm antiphon for St. Disibod

O blessed childhood

of Disibod, the chosen—

an age inspired so by God

that then such holy works

within God’s wonders

you distilled,

like balsam’s freshest scent.
