“Daughter of the Great Man” by D. H. Lawrence 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (11 Sep 18852 Mar 1930)
The daughter of the great man rolls her khaki wool,
And in her hands the sparkling needles fly
Swiftly. I wish I might kiss her fingers; but full
Of danger I find her, even worse than the fields where we die.
