“The Prophecy” by Marina Tsvetaeva 🇷🇺 (8 Oct 189231 Aug 1941)
Translated from the Russian by Erika Kleijmans
—“In your soul there is ebb and flow!”
You said yourself, you understood it on your own!
Oh, how you, disbelieving the hours,
Could judge me for a moment’s happiness?
What shall the impending minute bring?
Whose distant image shall surface out of sleep?
A happy day, and a dreary night tomorrow…
How one can judge for something, and why so?
Oh, how could you! O, wise, how could
You say “enemies” about two white sails?
Surely you knew… You understood it on your own!
That ebb and flow is in my soul!
